What's new in Android Studio 2.0?



This week, Android Engineer Kenneth Mojica discusses features in the Beta release of Android Studio 2.0.

To get started, Instant Run is a huge time-saver and makes easy work of changes to your app. Mojica assures us that the new emulator is much faster and adds multi-touch support for testing pinch and zoom gestures. Android Studio 2.0 is still in Beta, so keep that in mind when making the decision whether to upgrade or not.

Chris Barnicle finished last at Saturday's trials for the male U.S. Olympic marathon team, but the dude who calls himself the "world's fastest stoner" definitely takes first place in our hearts. Here are a few high-profile people who were brutally fired. Bosses, don't do this.

These have got to sting. While no one would likely list getting fired as an enjoyable experience, some employees have been shown the door in particularly cruel — and public — circumstances. Take Rick Tyler, the former spokesperson for Republican White House hopeful Ted Cruz. Over the weekend, Tyler posted a link to a story and video published in University of Pennsylvania's student newspaper The Daily Pennsylvanian that purported to show Cruz's rival, Senator Marco Rubio, telling a Cruz staffer that the bible didn't have many answers in it. But Rubio's camp said the senator didn't make any such comments. Tyler apologized on Sunday night. But the damage was done: Cruz dismissed Tyler on Monday.
