Chris Barnicle finished last at Saturday's trials for the male U.S. Olympic marathon team, but the dude who calls himself the "world's fastest stoner" definitely takes first place in our hearts. Barnicle finished 105th out of 105 marathoners in Los Angeles, so it's safe to say he won't be traveling to Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 games this summer. But, like, whatever, man. These have got to sting. While no one would likely list getting fired as an enjoyable experience, some employees have been shown the door in particularly cruel — and public — circumstances. Take Rick Tyler, the former spokesperson for Republican White House hopeful Ted Cruz. Over the weekend, Tyler posted a link to a story and video published in University of Pennsylvania's student newspaper The Daily Pennsylvanian that purported to show Cruz's rival, Senator Marco Rubio, telling a Cruz staffer that the bible didn't have many answers in it. But Rubio's camp said the senator didn't make any such comments. Tyler apologized on Sunday night. But the damage was done: Cruz dismissed Tyler on Monday.
